EA Explains Why Not A Lot of Their Games Are On The Nintendo Switch
EA explains why they don't bring their game to the Nintendo Switch

The PS4 has become the fastest-selling console to hit 100 million shipped units but Nintendo's Switch has skyrocketed since its launch in 2017. Many companies, like Bethesda and Ubisoft, have been porting their games to the Nintendo in alarming amounts but not EA. According to IGN, an investor asked EA CEO Andrew Wilson during the earnings call if the company ever considered putting The Sims on Switch.
Wilson replied with the following:
“Any time we’re evaluating platform conversations we’re really looking at a couple of things. One, does the game really fit the profile of that platform in terms of the control or the community ecosystem? Two, do we think the community playing on that platform would appreciate the game and go there, or would they prefer to play it somewhere else?
We have a lot of data that would suggest a great many Switch owners also own a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One or a PC and very often choose to play the games that we make on those platforms, even though they have a Switch and they enjoy a lot of great content on the Switch.”
While the Switch is not as powerful as the base model Xbox One or PS4 publishers have either downgraded or created special versions of their games for the Switch. We've seen this with Dead by Daylight, DOOM and South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
Currently, FIFA 19 is available on the Switch and perhaps EA may release Mass Effect on the system if there's money to be made. After all, EA is all about the money and loot boxes/surprise mechanics.
