Final Fantasy XIV's Starter Edition for PlayStation 4 will be free on PlayStation Store from May 22 to May 26, Gematsu confirms.
The Starter Edition includes the base game and a complimentary 30-day subscription. Content from the Heavensward, Stormblood and Shadowbringers expansions will still require a separate purchase. Additionally, those experiencing Eorzea via the unlimited time free trial will have their accounts upgraded to standard.
Players that already own the PC version of Final Fantasy XIV can also take advantage of this free discount to try the game on PS4s. However, they will be restricted to A Realm Reborn content until purchasing expansions on the console.
Final Fantasy XIV is available on PC and PS4.
