The console wars have been going on for a while now, so much so that many gamers have literally been born into them. Even though most consider that Sony has won the war, the exclusivity deals and games are still something the two consoles are holding onto. Now, console exclusives are nothing new; however, with Microsoft, most games end up coming to PC. Sony's case is much more monolithic, and you will rarely see one of their exclusives coming to PC.

Now, here's something you probably didn't see coming: Forza Horizon 5 may actually come to PlayStation 5. The idea that this would happen is really big for both the game and the industry. Forza Horizon 5 was a phenomenal game released in 2021. It saw critical and commercial success and is also considered one of Xbox's flagship products.

Now, according to a rumor, Forza Horizon 5 might be coming to PS5 soon. This release was supposed to happen in the summer of 2024 but got delayed for unknown reasons. Despite this, the release is still happening. Now, this is not an unprecedented move, as the Xbox saw many of its exclusives being shipped to other platforms. Not too long ago this year, HiFi Rush made its way to PS5. India Jones and the Great Circle is also another known exclusive that is slated to come to the PlayStation 5 in early 2025.

The rumors, however, also state that there's no exact and fixed timeline for this, so it's hard to say when exactly this will happen. When it does, though, it will mean a lot for Microsoft since this shows that Microsoft is not afraid to push out its games and lose exclusivity. One thing is for sure: Anyone looking to get a PS5 will definitely have another great game potentially waiting for them.

Another set of rumors spurred recently stated that Microsoft's, as of yet unnamed handheld, will have PlayStation exclusives. However, this one has less credence as it feels completely against Sony's game plan. One thing is for certain: Sony will absolutely not port all of its exclusives to the handheld. The handheld itself is like any other handheld coming out: the Steam Deck. Don't get it wrong, Sony games will definitely come to the handheld, maybe even an exclusive or two, but not all of it.

Microsoft's handheld will probably not be an Xbox lite, given how they've put heavy emphasis on PC over the last decade. Games like God of War are released on PC some years down the line, but this is more of a marketing strategy for Sony to get more players into the PlayStation ecosystem. Don't forget, Sony is also working on its own handheld system, and there's no way it would risk it by colluding with Microsoft's handheld.
