GTA 6 Silence Continues As Fans Wait For Rockstar’s Next Move

Fresh rumors around pre-orders, Trailer 3, and Rockstar’s marketing plans have sent the GTA community into another wave of speculation ahead of Take-Two’s upcoming earnings call.

It's beginning to feel like a side quest to wait for Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar Games hasn't said a word about any of the rumors, theories, or leaks that are said to happen every week. The latest wave of excitement was based around a rumored GTA 6 pre-order launch through Best Buy. But when it was said that the shop had only made a mistake, things broke down fast.

Within hours of the company sending out letters announcing pre-orders for GTA 6 would start May 18, social media and gaming forums exploded. Fans who were dying for news made it the most talked-about thing online right away. A lot of people thought that Rockstar was going to show off something big along with the pre-orders, like a third trailer for the game.

But when May 18 arrived, nothing happened. No pre-orders appeared. Rockstar remained silent. Best Buy also avoided making any public statement about the confusion. According to the sources, people connected to distribution companies later claimed there were never any official plans for pre-orders to go live on that date.

The emails themselves were reportedly real, but the information inside them was incorrect.

Things are getting more stressful around GTA 6, and the silence has made them worse. People in the community are stuck in a never-ending cycle of theories and countdowns as they try to figure out what Rockstar will do next by looking at marketing updates and social media pages that hide tiny details.

One reason fans are still holding onto hope is the timing. Take-Two Interactive’s earnings call is scheduled for May 21, and historically, major Rockstar announcements often appear close to investor meetings. Many players believe Rockstar could still release fresh information before the call takes place, especially since the company’s official social media pages continue to feature GTA 6’s second trailer pinned at the top.

Interestingly, that trailer still shows the game’s old release timing before GTA 6 was delayed to November 19. While Rockstar has updated banners and promotional images elsewhere, the older trailer remains unchanged. It may sound small, but fans have started treating it like a clue that another update could be coming soon.

At the same time, leaders at Take-Two keep telling investors that GTA 6 is still on track. The heads of the company have stated that the release date as of right now will still be November 19 . This was done to appease people who were scared there will be another delay . After years of waiting, that proof is now one of the few solid pieces of information that players can hold on to.

And honestly, the anticipation makes sense. By the time GTA 6 launches, more than 13 years will have passed since Grand Theft Auto V first released back in 2013. In gaming terms, that gap feels enormous. Entire console generations have changed during that time, yet GTA V somehow remained one of the industry’s biggest games through GTA Online and constant re-releases.

Now, players are getting ready for Rockstar's first brand-new GTA world in more than ten years, and naturally, they have incredibly high hopes. Every picture, every rumor, and every little marketing detail becomes a news story online right away.

Another rumor currently making rounds involves the possible soundtrack for GTA 6’s rumored third trailer.

A Reddit user claiming ties to the music industry suggested Rockstar could use the Rolling Stones song “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)” in the next trailer. There is no official confirmation supporting the claim, but fans are paying attention because Rockstar’s previous trailers have used songs heavily tied to the themes and atmosphere of the game.

The speculation also carries extra weight because earlier GTA 6 leaks surprisingly turned out to be accurate. Before Trailer 1 officially launched, online users had correctly hinted at parts of its soundtrack and tone ahead of time. Because of that history, some fans believe even random-looking leaks deserve attention now, especially with Rockstar staying so quiet.

Still, people in the neighborhood are getting more and more tired. Players are getting tired of hearing stories all the time followed by silence. Every rumored leak or timer makes people excited for a few hours, but then they get back to normal. Sources say that many fans now think Rockstar will wait until the summer to start the next part of marketing for the game properly.

However, GTA 6 is still the most unknown game in the world right now. The date of release is said to be set in stone. A lot of people are already very excited and rockstar is getting even more attention. Fans will have to check dates, watch videos, and guess when the next real reveal will happen until the company finally says something.

So the question hanging over the entire GTA community now feels simple: how much longer can Rockstar keep the world waiting before the internet completely loses its mind?
