Longtime admirers of Lara Croft may experience nostalgia once more. Rumors are circulating that the Tomb Raider Legend trilogy may be receiving an HD collection. This would be part of Embracer Group's current push to remaster and re-release beloved classics.
Rumors started circulating when curious fans discovered that the official Tomb Raider Twitter account had been featuring Legend regularly. That slight hint caused a lot of talk on the internet, and when you look at what Embracer has been doing lately, the idea of a Legend remake seems very likely.

Crystal Dynamics, the company behind Tomb Raider: Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld, was acquired by the Embracer Group in 2022. Updating fan favorites like the original Tomb Raider trilogy, the Gex series, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2, and even later Croft adventures like Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Chronicles, and The Angel of Darkness has become a big business for the publisher since then.
The publishers and developers both understand the potential impact of the Tomb Raider Legend HD remake on their income and the satisfaction it will bring to fans who have been waiting for it. In light of this, the Legend series, released between 2006 and 2008, appears to be the next logical step. It would not only maintain momentum but it would also mark a pivotal moment in Lara Croft's evolution. Years before the gritty 2013 remake, Crystal Dynamics remade the character for a modern audience.
The Legend series is an important part of Tomb Raider history. It was a big step forward for the series after The Angel of Darkness almost ruined Lara's image. Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld brought Croft back to the status of game royalty, featuring improved controls, a more cinematic look, and a focus on the story. Many fans still believe that this time period offers the best blend of old-school Tomb Raider puzzles and modern action-adventure style.
The clear pattern of Embracer makes it feel more like a when than an if to bring these games back. Although there has been no official statement, it is believed that the game may be released in 2026 if the publisher maintains its current remastering pace.
At this point, the idea is still just a story, but people want it. Nostalgia-driven collections are a reliable way to bring old IPs back to life, and Lara Croft's tales from the mid-2000s are ready for a new generation to rediscover.
One thing is for sure: fans of the Tomb Raider Legend series may not have to wait much longer to play through one of Lara Croft's most important times in HD. Embracer may make the official announcement soon; we just have to wait until they do.
