After months of speculation about Naughty Dog's next first-person game, the moment has finally arrived, and Naughty Dog has revealed their next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. During the Game Awards, this new title was revealed, and the Head of Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, stated that 'Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet might be the "most creative story" they have ever created.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet looks like a sci-fi bounty hunter game, and Jordan A. Mun is introduced as one of the main characters. Tati Gabrielle, who plays Jordan, is one of the many terrific actors, and other cast members are shown in the reveal trailer.

The game puts Jordan stuck on the faraway planet Sempiria after its connection to the outer cosmos fell dark hundreds of years ago in Intergalactic. She is a deadly bounty hunter who crashes on the planet Sempiria, which was once connected to the wider universe across multiple galaxies but now remains isolated. No one ever returned after flying to the island in the hopes of discovering its enigmatic history. Attempting to break out of its orbit after more than 600 years will require Jordan to use all her abilities and cunning.

While the studio's head refused to discuss the game's plot in detail, Neil did say it "lives up to the Naughty Dog tradition of creating an emotional, character-driven epic journey." Druckmann also quoted, "Agreed, it's an unconventional American name. However, anyone who flew there to investigate its mysterious past was never heard from again. Jordan will have to employ all of her abilities and wits if she wants to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit."

He also mentioned, "Our narrative ambitions are only rivaled by our ambitions with gameplay. This will be the deepest gameplay Naughty Dog has ever done, expanding on our previous franchises and pushing the bar beyond what we've attempted in the past."

Naughty Dog CEO Neil Druckmann teased the game as "shaping up to be our wildest, most creative story yet" during yesterday night's The Game Awards 2024 when the studio—best known for authoring The Last of Us franchise—revealed the new title. No release date was given for 'Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet,' but it was announced to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
