Respawn Entertainment's CEO would love to see a new Titanfall in works.

Despite not being in the spotlight most of the time, the feedback of the Titanfall series as a whole was quite immense. With mostly positive reviews upon its release, Titanfall 2 actually had a lot going on for both its single-player and multiplayer modes, plus it was praised for its storyline, movement, and well-crafted gameplay.

Unfortunately for Respawn Entertainment, Titanfall 2 was released at a time when major companies were also putting their workhorses onto the field—those being Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Titanfall 2’s name was still there, but hopes of any uprising were nowhere to be found.

Of course, if you add the fact that a few years later, Respawn Entertainment jumped on the bandwagon of releasing excessively team-dependent online first-person shooters, and that made them have a leap forward with their take on the battle royale genre, Apex Legends. Certainly, Apex Legends still has a ton of players and has been growing ever since 2019, but it seems like Respawn Entertainment still hasn't forgotten about the next installment of the Titanfall game, inevitably Titanfall 3.

In a recent interview with the CEO of Respawn Entertainment, Vince Zampella answered questions about the future of Respawn Entertainment, the newly released Star Wars game, and, quite shockingly, Titanfall 3. When asked about the new Titanfall, Zampella said, “I would absolutely love to see that happen,” though he followed up with a statement that Titanfall 3 is not currently in the works. The reason is that if they were to start working on the new Titanfall game, it would hurt its reputation.

According to him, it's not the time to release such a title while their major project, Apex Legends, is gaining popularity and new players are joining the squads ever since. It is quite frankly the right thing to do, since Titanfall wasn’t critiqued badly at all. Therefore, as expected, Respawn Entertainment wants to take matters carefully before actually committing to come up with a new Titanfall game. It will eventually happen, but the fans have to be very patient if we want to have the vibe of the first two games carried over to the next one.

Titanfall 2 had a great reputation among series fans, and after seven long years of absence, it’s obvious that they would like to see Respawn Entertainment finally announce Titanfall 3. We sure hope they do, especially after their massive success with Star Wars: Jedi Survivor.
