This series of Tony Hawk remakes began when Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 was released in 2020 to critical acclaim, and was praised for its nostalgic 90s and early 2000s retro soundtrack. The remake's developer, Vicarious Visions, was, however, bought out by Blizzard Entertainment in 2022 and became a support studio for Diablo 4 under the name Blizzard Albany.

After that, it resulted in widespread disappointment among Tony Hawk's Pro Skater fans and fans of skating games in general, who questioned seriously whether Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 would ever be released now that Blizzard had acquired Vicarious Visions.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, Reveal, Release Date

It's set to be a summer of nostalgia galore, as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 has now been officially announced and will be released on July 11. Activision had been hinting at announcing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 over the past couple of weeks with a countdown within the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Grind map, giving a discount for Pro Skater 1 + 2 on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and more. The original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and Pro Skater 4 were released in 2001 and 2002, respectively, and a new generation of gamers have been waiting to experience these iconic games with a new coat of paint.

Now, Tony Hawk franchise enthusiasts have something to look forward to again, as Activision revealed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 comes out July 11. The revelation came in a heart-pumping 90-second trailer that takes a look at some of the different locations the players will get to shred up, such as an airport, a cruise ship, a water park with medieval flair, and other adrenaline junkie spots. This Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 remake is developed by Iron Galaxy Studios, who was a supporting developer for the Pro Skater 1 + 2 remake.

Pre-ordering the digital deluxe version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 will grant players early access to the game three days early, on July 8. The game will feature Doom crossover content like Doom Slayer and Revenant Skaters, the Unmaykr hoverboard, in-game Doom music, skate decks, and Skater clothing. Pre-ordering either the standard or digital deluxe editions also grants access to the Foundry Demo. The demo is not yet dated but will include two playable skaters, two parks, and a preview of the game's soundtrack.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is finally releasing on Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation, PC, and Nintendo Switch on July 11. Fans can likely expect to see plenty more of the game in the months leading up to its highly anticipated release. Interested players will need to watch the social media handles of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Activision in order to get more information about when the Foundry Demo will become available.
