Peacock series adds another great actor to its cast.

Will Arnett is going to voice the character of Sweet Tooth in Peacock’s upcoming Twisted Metal series. Falcon and the Winter Soldier actor Anthony Mackie will star and produce the series with Brooklyn 99’s Stephanie Beatriz and Spider-Man 3’s Thomas Haden Church also attached.
Written by Deadpool and Zombieland co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Twisted Metal follows John Doe (Anthony Mackie), “a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.”
Twisted Metal is one of several PlayStation IPs currently being developed for television. The video game franchise has been on hiatus since 2012, however with Sony pushing their way into the streaming market with HBO’s The Last of Us and the newly announced God of War and Horizon: Zero Dawn series at Amazon and Netflix respectively, now is a good time to revive the property. Twisted Metal is a demolition derby game where crazed characters are equipped with deadly vehicles and must be the last one standing. The winner then receives a single wish from tournament host Calypso. The show will be taking a different approach to the story of Twisted Metal but this is a good thing as a road-trip narrative is perhaps better suited for television.
Will Arnett, who will also act as an executive producer on the series, will voice Sweet Tooth; “a hilarious and terrifying hulk of a man, who is as emotional as he is cunning.” The physical body of Sweet Tooth has yet to be cast but Arnett, the gravelly-voiced star of Bojack Horseman, is a great addition, nonetheless. Alongside his iconic ice cream truck, the killer clown has been the face of the franchise since the original 1995 game and even represented the series in the crossover fighting game PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
