As is usually the case with leaks, EA has acknowledged Crysis 3 is a thing and has gone ahead and announed the darn thing after appearing briefly on EA's digital storefront Origin, likely way before they ever planned to unveil it.
The announcement contained a great deal of details. FIrstly, the game will take place in New York City, just like Crysis 2, only this time the place has become a jungle in the years since the city was decimated by aliens. So that explains the bow, I guess, though there will also be the usual assortment of high-tech weaponry.
Crytek states in the press release that there will be seven different locations spread across the rainforest-esque city, which is claimed to be sandbox environment. They also promise the story to have plenty of corporate conpiracy and revenge seeking.
The game is currently set for release in Spring of 2013, though that isn't stopping EA from accepting pre-orders for the game's special "Hunter Edition," which will grant players a boost in XP for multiplayer when the game is released.
