The news came today after Kotaku picked up a Tweet from 3D Realms director, George Broussard, creator of Duke Nukem Forever.

Sony Online Entertainment is responsible for developing the successful, D.C. Universe Online franchise and Free Realms. They’re also the publisher for many Playstation Network titles, such as Plants Vs Zombies, Slam Bolt Scrappers and Acceleration of Suguri X Edition.

Our sympathies go out to the people affected and out of a job. And in the same line, we would like to extend our compassion one final time for Hudson Entertainment that has officially ceased to exist.
