Understanding all the Combat Actions is crucial to winning any fights in Back to the Dawn. You need to understand all the Combat Actions first to apply different combos during a fight.

Unarmed Strikes
When you engage in hand-to-hand combat without using a weapon, you make unarmed attacks that deal damage but also have the Cut trait.
Your style of fighting can be refined and altered using specialized equipment, such as brass knuckles or Tank Wraps, which change the nature of your fist fights in Back to the Dawn.
Each unarmed attack sips 10 Energy from your pool. But if you have perfected the Whirlwind+ skill, your energy saving is significantly reduced by half, and each attack is just 7 Energy.
Weapon-Based Attacks
Your current weapons dictate the type of weapon attacks, and each piece of gear contributes its own set of attributes to battle in Back to the Dawn.
The level of damage you inflict, special skills, and Energy drain all differ based on which actual weapon you use in your combat.
Weapons vary in utility and effectiveness in tactics, so your choice of equipment is a very crucial strategic choice that will directly determine your overall combat ability.

Rest and Restoration
Taking time to rest during combat provides you with the opportunity to restore Energy and get ready for further battle in Back to the Dawn.
When you decide to rest, you lose your turn but earn a big reward instead. Your Energy reserves are refilled with 35% of your whole level, providing you with the Energy to keep utilizing powerful moves and abilities.
If you have the Self-Heal+ skill in Back to the Dawn, resting is even more rewarding because you get back your health by an amount equal to 10% of your full Energy at the same time.

Fighting Move Arsenal
You can visit your Fighting Moves menu and view the list of special skills you've acquired throughout your game.
These specialized fighting skills offer strong alternatives to conventional attacks, with distinct effects and strategic applications.
Your list of available fighting moves gets longer as you gain levels, leaving you with more advanced ways of addressing challenging encounters in Back to the Dawn.
Item Utilization
You have a variety of usable items within your inventory that will greatly influence the outcome of combat.
With the item usage system, you can send healing items to replenish your health, attack items that inflict extra damage on enemies, or utility items that produce special effects in combat.

Effective item management often means the difference between winning and losing in brutal battles in Back to the Dawn.
