You will ultimately meet a very strange guy called Fane in the setting of Divinity: Original Sin 2. He is an Undead creature that keeps his actual visage hidden from the world. He normally begins as a Wizard if you opt to bring him along.
This means he is adept at utilizing magic to influence the battlefield and damage his adversaries.

How to Look for Him
You might meet Fane early on in your time in Fort Joy. You should search for the Hidden Alcove. When you reach the clearing, you'll notice him standing over a dead guy. You might start a discussion by walking up to him and asking him what he is doing with the body. You may ask him to join your group after you converse for a while, and he will say yes.
Magic and Natural Skills
Fane has the Ingenious attribute, which helps him with his talents since he has lived for a long period. He also has the Far Out Man skill, which lets him utilize objects and perform spells from further away than most people. Because he is Undead, he lives and dies by strange laws. Poison will cure his bones, but regular healing spells and potions will hurt him.

Skills in Battle
Fane has a few tricks in his sleeve to stay ahead when a brawl breaks out. He may utilize Ignition to set objects on fire that are close by or toss Searing Daggers at certain targets. He can create a pool of oil with Fossil Strike to slow down his enemies.
He also has two highly unique abilities. Play Dead allows him fool his opponents into believing he's not there, which makes them stop assaulting him. Time Warp is his most potent weapon since it lets someone take an additional turn straight immediately.
