How To Earn Gold And Premium Currency Through Gameplay
Game Guide by Subaiyta Jahan on Feb 09, 2026
You can earn currency efficiently through regular gameplay in Heartopa. If you learn the different types of currency and where each one is used, and which activities provide the most consistent returns, it will help you earn even faster.
Understanding In-Game Currency
There are four currencies in the free-to-play game Heartopia. The primary form of money used to buy goods, furnishings, and clothes is gold. Wishing Stars can be earned through gameplay and are used for select purchases. Moonlight Crystals and Heart Diamonds are premium currencies, usually obtained through paid methods, though limited amounts can be earned for free.
Seasonal banners feature limited clothing, accessories, vehicles, and furniture. Some premium currency can be obtained for free by using redeem codes, which are released regularly.

Redeem Codes and Free Rewards
Before spending any currency, redeem any available codes. Heartopia releases redeem codes frequently, often daily. These codes can provide Moonlight Crystals, exhibition passes, cooked food, fishing supplies, building materials, and Gold.
To redeem a code, open your smartwatch, go to settings, select the redeem code option, and enter the code. Codes are not case-sensitive. You should also check the discovery tab and follow official channels, as doing so grants additional rewards. The official Discord server frequently shares codes, making it a reliable source of free currency.
You should also check your mailbox often. Developer surveys and server maintenance rewards are sent directly to your email and usually include Gold and Wishing Stars. Maintenance rewards alone can provide thousands of gold, making mailbox checks worthwhile.

Spending and Managing Gold
Gold is used to rotate the town square shops' stock of clothing and furniture, as well as for time-limited festivals that offer exclusive items at reduced prices. Gold is also required to expand your home plot. Expansion costs increase as you progress, so saving gold early prevents delays later.
Home plot expansions become expensive over time, with later plots costing tens of thousands of gold. Planning ensures you do not miss unlocked content due to low funds.
Cooking as an Early Gold Source
Cooking is one of the fastest ways to earn gold early in the game. You can forage ingredients like raspberries at no cost, while blueberries, apples, and oranges can be found on trees and bushes near player homes. These ingredients can be cooked into jam on the stove.
If you combine different ingredients, it will unlock new recipes. Using four tomatoes in a jam recipe unlocks tomato sauce, which makes experimentation necessary. Forest areas contain mushrooms, including Truffles, which are the most valuable. Truffles respawn every thirteen minutes, require no tools to collect, and provide strong returns.
Foraging during rainbow weather grants a Rainbow Blessing, increasing yields, fish quality, and food quality.

Daily Resource Spawns
Every day, a Fluorite Crystal appears near a player's home, along with a wandering oak tree. Striking the oak tree with an axe provides firewood. These resources can only be collected once every twenty-four hours and appear near different player lots daily, so exploring neighborhoods increases efficiency.
Large trees found across the map can be harvested for quality timber and rare timber drops. Rare wood is one of the most valuable crafting materials and can be used to create furniture that sells for high prices. Since Fluorite and wandering timber are limited, they should be used carefully.

High-Value Recipes
Early profit-focused recipes include basic jams, Fish and Chips, Truffle Pie, and Truffle Pasta. Fish And Chips can be purchased at cooking level one. Truffle Pie is unlocked by using only truffles in the mushroom pie recipe. At cooking level three, you can buy the Truffle Pasta recipe from Masimo.
You should check Masimo's shop daily for discounted ingredients and stock up when prices are low. Masimo does not sell wheat, potatoes, or fish, so gardening and fishing are required to support these recipes.
Using multiple stoves increases output, but timing matters to avoid burning food. Cooking with a single stove limits production speed, while multiple stoves allow continuous output. Friends can help interact with stoves, but you must initiate cooking to keep items in your inventory.
Recipes like jam and lattes are practical for leveling cooking skills quickly, unlocking higher-value dishes. Collection tabs should be checked often, as unlocking new dishes provides additional rewards and gold.
Selling Items to Albert Jr.
You need to find Albert Jr. from the Gilded Acorn Merchants Guild if you want to sell cooked meals and other products. His yellow jumpsuit and bucket hat can identify him. Higher-quality dishes sell for more gold, so focusing on star-rated food increases profits.

Events and Multiplayer Earnings
As you progress through the main quest, you unlock events. Fishing, bug-catching, and bird-watching events offer substantial rewards. Fishing events allow you to invite other players and are time-based, making efficient play important.
During fishing events, targeting Goldfish increases the chance of obtaining rare and high-star fish. Bonus fishing zones automatically reel in fish and should be used continuously while active. These events are one of the fastest ways to build collections and earn valuable items.
Event costs increase each time they are started, so rotating event purchases with friends helps reduce individual spending. Completing events also grants rewards, such as Galaxy Eggs, with performance-based bonuses.
Bug Catching Events
The Bait the Bugs event is unlocked through Eric. Activating the bug-catching device starts the event. You will need repair kits to maintain your bug-catching wand between rounds.
Insect swarm outbreaks occur periodically, enabling faster bug collection. Personal and group goals provide additional rewards, making group participation effective. You can sell the Bugs collected during events, which is a profit since they are not used in crafting or cooking afterwards.

Fireworks and High-Value Sales
Fireworks are among the highest-profit items available. They are earned through Galaxy Eggs, quests, and limited gacha machines. Additional fireworks can be purchased from Kaching using Wishing Stars.
Wishing Stars should be used carefully, as they are needed for customization. Selling fireworks to Albert Jr. provides a fast way to earn large amounts of gold.

Gardening for Long-Term Profit
Gardening supplies are purchased from Blancc, the gardening mentor. Early on, limited plot space requires careful planning. Crops grow at different speeds, so setting timers helps maintain efficiency.
Tomatoes grow quickly and help level gardening skills, while potatoes and wheat should be grown consistently for high-value recipes. Fast-growing crops work best during active play sessions, while slow-growing crops should be planted before logging off.
As gardening proficiency increases, you gain access to bountiful crops, which sell for more gold. While gardening takes time, it provides steady returns.
Pet Care Rewards
Caring for pets also contributes to income. As you level dog and cat care skills, pets begin offering gifts. A gift icon appears above a pet's head when rewards are available. These gifts can be worth thousands of gold and get better as you get better at taking care of things.
In Heartopia, you can make money by cooking, foraging, going to events, gardening, and getting daily incentives. You may go forward without wasting time by carefully managing your resources and focusing on systems as they open up. This also lets you keep access to future information.
