Heretic + Hexen Guide | All Secrets in the Dungeons

In the dungeons of Heretic and Hexen, there are many hidden secrets waiting to be discovered. These hidden areas not only provide useful items but also offer powerful tools that can help you progress through the game. 

In this guide, you will find every secret and hidden prize in the dungeons, no matter how experienced you are or how new you are to the game. These hidden items, like strong weapons and important keys, will help you on your trip. 

Secret 1: Tome of Power

Look for a darker wall after you pass the third wooden door in the middle area. This wall is just a fake one that you can open to get to a secret place behind it. You'll find a Tome of Power inside, which is an important item that makes you stronger. 

Secret 2: The Torch and the Switch

After entering the room beyond the fake wall, climb the stairs to find black pillars on the western side of the room. Navigate around these pillars to discover a Torch and a switch. Pulling the switch will open a passage in the yellow key room. 

Head through the passage, descend the stairs, and prepare for an ambush. Once you defeat the enemies, continue downward, where you will find an opening to the central area. In this area, you’ll see the red column in the tower has risen, allowing you to collect the Dragon Claw, a powerful weapon.

Secret 3: Shadowsphere

After passing through the yellow door, you’ll notice a darker wall to the left near the stairs. This wall can be opened to reveal a hidden chamber. Inside, you will find the Shadowsphere, a helpful item for navigating dark areas.

Secret 4: Timebombs of the Ancients

When you reach the grey slime area, take a U-turn to the right into a passage. At the end of the passage, you will find a darkened wall that can be opened. Passing through this wall will lead you to a room containing Timebombs of the Ancients and a Map Scroll, both crucial for your progress.

Secret 5: Gauntlets of the Necromancer

There is another dark wall inside the secret place we talked about above. You can open it to find a treasure chest full of items that will help you in your upcoming fights. These include the Gauntlets of the Necromancer and a difficult-to-find item.

Secret 6: Wings of Wrath

After obtaining the green key, proceed forward. As you climb the stairs, look for a torch with a flickering light. Open the wall opposite this torch, and you will find a chamber that contains the Wings of Wrath, an item that grants you increased agility and enhanced movement abilities.

Secret 7: Bag of Holding

Once you’ve obtained the blue key, you will come across a second ambush chamber. Here, you’ll discover a Bag of Holding. In the same area, look for a slightly darkened wall. Open it to find a large chamber filled with valuable items. This hidden treasure chest can give you a substantial boost for your journey through the dungeons.
