Gaining levels in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road plays an important role when you plan to progress through the tougher parts of Chronicle Mode and Competition Mode. You can raise character levels without much manual input, and several in-game systems support fast XP growth.

This guide outlines those methods and explains how you can use them to increase levels efficiently.
Using Ranked Matches for XP Farming
For getting XP quickly, online ranked matches are the best way to go. Each match gives you a lot of XP, and it doesn't matter if you win or lose. You also get more XP when you play against teams that are higher level. The extra gets better as the gap between levels gets bigger. This is what you need to do to get into ranked matches:
Select Competition Mode from the main menu.
Choose Compete Online.
Select Ranked Match.

You also gain Bond Stars through ranked match grinding. This currency helps you progress through the Player Constellation in Chronicle Mode, which unlocks powerful Hero characters.
During these matches, you may allow the AI to handle your team by switching to Commander Mode. During a match, press the input shown in the bottom left corner to start this mode. This reduces the amount of interaction required. However, you can still skip cutscenes and adjust formations manually to shorten match duration.
Offline XP Farming in Chronicle Mode
If you want to focus on single-player content, you can farm XP through specific battles in Chronicle Mode. You reach these battles by progressing through nodes in the Chronicle Competition Route.

Once you clear the earlier challenges on a node, you unlock Rare Drop Battles and Hero Battles. Winning these battles grants XP and may also reward items that increase XP gains. To access these fights consistently, you must be able to defeat Level 21+ teams, which may limit this method for low-level characters.
These battles serve as a stable offline option and provide both XP and useful items that support further leveling.
