John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando Guide | How to Get Bloodhound Trophy
A quick guide to unlocking Bloodhound by finishing a mission while carrying the Sludge Seed.

The Bloodhound trophy is simple once you know what to look for. You need to finish a mission while carrying the Sludge Seed. Many people unlock it without trying because it gives extra XP, but it can still be missed if the item gets used before the mission ends.
As soon as the mission starts, open the map and look for the blue brain icon. That icon marks the Sludge Seed. Every mission has one somewhere on the map, so the goal is to place a waypoint on it and move toward that location as early as possible.

Reaching the Sludge Seed
When you get close to the marked spot, expect resistance. There will usually be a decent number of zombies around the area. Clear them out first before trying to pick up the item. Some areas can also be more dangerous than normal. In this example, the route included a platforming section where falling meant instant death, along with a nearby giant laser tentacle.
That means the hardest part is often not finding the Sludge Seed. It is surviving the trip and keeping the area under control long enough to grab it safely.

How to Pick It Up
Once you reach the item, hold Square to collect it. After that, the Sludge Seed appears in the bottom-left corner of the screen. The display also shows how many seeds are left. This is useful because the item has two uses, and only one of them helps with the trophy.
If you complete the mission while it is still in your inventory, you get extra XP and unlock Bloodhound. If you die while carrying it, you can respawn, but the Sludge Seed gets consumed. When that happens, you must go back, collect it again, and then finish the mission with it still on you.

Best Way to Secure the Trophy
The safest method is to grab the Sludge Seed and then play carefully until the mission ends. Avoid unnecessary risks once it is in your inventory. Do not waste it on a respawn unless you are ready to go back for another one. As long as you collect it again and finish the mission while carrying it, the trophy will unlock.
