KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX- Guide | How to Defeat Cloud

During the preliminaries at the Olympus Coliseum, you’ll encounter Cloud. Although it isn’t a must-win fight, you’ll be rewarded with experience, and it’ll be a great way to practice for the upcoming encounters.

This particular fight primarily requires you to time your attacks well. This guide will show you how.

His initial move is pretty quick, and he does a line-up charge attack; it is something to loobk out for, as it can pack a punch if it hits. If you time your Guard correctly, it will deflect the attack, giving you an opportunity to counterattack.

If you haven’t yet unlocked Guard, you’ll be able to interrupt the charge using your Keyblade, although the chances of you pulling it off consistently as the Guard aren’t that likely. If you’re struggling to pull the move off, you can always Dodge, which is often seen as the safer way to deal with attacks.

You may wish to jump in after his charge attack, but there’s also a chance that his charge may chain a bunch of combinations together, so be careful when rushing in.

His second attack has him slash with his sword, which can be pretty difficult to deal with. You’re better off letting him finish the combo and backing up in the process; this will give you an opportunity attack him after his third sword strike when the opportunity arises.

For his third attack, he does a jump into the air, after which he dives down towards you. It’s something to look out for, as it can cause significant damage. When you see the cloud initiate the attack, be prepared to dodge to escape its target region.

Later down the line, in the Olympus Coliseum, Cloud’s aerial abilities do improve and inflict more damage, during which he will do a leap across the arena and perform a bunch of slashes in the air before he lands.

During this period, Cloud will only do five slashes before he reaches the ground. Be sure to avoid the hits by timing your dodges before taking a few strikes.

As he moves, you’ll want to make sure to have him locked so as not lose sight of him.

The Cloud boss fight requires you to attack quickly, let Cloud finish his combos, and prioritize defense. With proper movement and intelligent counters, Cloud becomes a pretty easy boss to fight in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix.
