Finding Sparky

To start, you need to find Sparky, who appears in the Outer Ring or Overworld 1 of the Dark Horizon DLC. It’s unclear whether Sparky has a random spawn location initially, but once you interact with it for the first time, it will move around randomly across the maps. You can spot it on your mini-map as an NPC marker.

Interacting with Sparky

Equip the Phetyr Armor before speaking to Sparky. This armor triggers unique dialogue in which Sparky believes you are supposed to destroy it for malfunctioning. While it’s uncertain if wearing the armor is mandatory to continue the questline, it does alter the dialogue, suggesting that it might be necessary.

When talking to Sparky, tell it that you are from a different planet and that you can bring it back to Earth. Be sure to correct it when it says “Orth” instead of “Earth” to ensure it doesn’t get lost. After this interaction, Sparky will begin appearing at different locations as you progress through Dark Horizon. Each time you zone into a new area, you may encounter Sparky again, but the dialogue will mostly repeat itself.

Locating Sparky After the Final Boss

Once you have defeated the final boss, you will be able to find Sparky in the Inner Ring or Overworld 2 of the map, in the area called Waylade Conservatory within the Withered Necropolis. From the first World Stone, head left, use the glider to reach a platform in the middle of the area, clear out the enemies, and you will see the Warden Armor on the left. Sparky will be in the top-right corner of the area.

You may need to speak to Sparky multiple times before it wakes up. If Sparky does not wake up, it could be because you did not repair the hanging prototype robot or did not defeat both bosses in your playthrough. While it’s unclear whether these tasks are required, it is recommended to clear all objectives before facing the final boss to avoid issues.

Returning to the Ward and Obtaining the Alloy Extractor

After speaking to Sparky and telling it to return to Earth, you will find it in the Ward next to Dwell. At this point, Sparky will give you a new item called the Alloy Extractor. This item allows you to collect new Alloys from different planets, including N’Erud, Loam, and Yesa. These materials can be farmed by defeating enemies at any difficulty level. You can identify them easily on your mini-map, as they will appear as purple ion drops.

To progress further, you will need about 100 of each Alloy type, so be prepared to farm World Drops extensively.

Sparky’s New Role and Item Trade-Ins

Sparky essentially functions as Nightweaver’s Web 2.0, allowing you to trade quest items and new materials for various rings and amulets. Thankfully, you do not need to be in Campaign Mode to collect these items—you can find them in any Adventure Mode run and return to the Ward to exchange them with Sparky.

There are nine quest items required for trade-ins. For reference, check the description below (if applicable) to locate them. Once you have gathered the necessary items and Alloys, you can trade them for three amulets and six rings.

Receiving the Redeemer Pistol

After completing all trade-ins, Sparky will thank you and reward you with the Redeemer pistol. This unique handgun fires relics as part of its mod ability, making it a powerful support weapon.
