Ada is presented with a set of riddles in her mission in the Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways DLC, one of which is a variant of Leon's initial campaign's lithograph door puzzle. One of these puzzles is presented in Chapter 4 when players must find and correctly position stone lithographs to gain entry to the Bindery. This guide shows you how to find the lithographs and complete the puzzle in a short time.

Discovering Stone Lithographs

Ada is in Chapter 4, in which she leaves Luis aside to get ingredients for the serum before she approaches a short corridor to the Bindery Room. The Bindery Room already has two of the pieces of the stone lithographs in place, yet two more must be discovered in order to move ahead.

The first missing piece, Lithograph Stone B, is discovered on a wood bench opposite the puzzle door. The second one, Lithograph Stone A, is discovered by Ada's footprints in the corridor. Prying a fallen bookcase aside, she must move to the opposite side of the corridor, where she discovers the Merchant waiting there. Lithograph Stone A is discovered to be opposite to the Merchant. Return to the puzzle door, in hand carrying two lithographs, and set to unravel the dilemma.

Solving the Lithography Dilemma

Players must unlock the Bindery door using symbols on each of the stones to their respective slots correctly. To do so, Grasp the lithograph stone on the left, turn it to face you to exhibit the Red Square Fan, and position it at the top. Then, push the uppermost stone to the right slot, ensuring that the Blue Square Parasol mark is exposed to the exterior.

After that, take Lithograph Stone B, initially to the right and then to the bottom of the Blue Hexagon Dress symbol. Then, take Lithograph Stone A, initially at the bottom, to the slot to the left, making sure to display the Red Hexagon Butterfly symbol. As soon as you put stones in their respective position, Bindery's door unlocks to enable Ada to move forward.

Finding The Red Ink

Inside the Bindery, Ada needs Red Ink to unlock a mystery and move forward. The solution to this problem lies in the Lithograph Press, a large machine in the center of the Bindery with a hand crank. Once you approach the press, a sheet of paper appears with a diagram of shields in sequence, three numbered indicators, and a note that says, "Get Shooting".

Players need to determine the shields to use to get a set that corresponds to the diagram on paper. Although there is a plethora of groups of shields dispersed around Bindery, the set in question has five shields in the count and is, to the fire's left, a suit of armor.

As soon as you've got relevant shields, fire in a sequence of:

  • Bottom-left shield
  • Top-right shield
  • Bottom-right shield.

By firing these three shields in order, a hidden drawer on Ada's back will open, and she'll be provided with Red Ink to enable her to move forward in the game.

In The End…

The lithograph puzzle in Separate Ways in Resident Evil 4 is yet one more challenge to Ada's quest. By going around and getting lithograph stones in their respective position, players can open up Bindery and move forward to the next challenge that needs red ink. The tutorial presents you with a quick means of overcoming both challenges, ensuring you get to move forward in Chapter 4 smoothly and satisfyingly.
