Scott Pilgrim EX Guide | Shop, Badge, and Accessory Locations

Find the best early shops faster and build a smoother upgrade route.

The shop route in Scott Pilgrim EX becomes much easier to follow. Badges, accessories, and healing items do more than just fix mistakes.

They help you keep fights from getting out of hand, make your build better, and make rough quests easier to finish. Don't buy everything; that's the smart thing to do. You need to figure out which shop stops are the most important and visit them in the right order.

Best Early Shops to Look at First

The first useful stops are the stores that help you get used to the game without spending any money. Underground Lab is a good starting point because it shows how store visits fit into the route. Another early stop that is worth your time is Ice Age.

It helps you get into the habit of looking at shop stock instead of treating progression like one long combat line. These early stores aren't so much about getting everything just right as they are about figuring out how the game wants you to make your character better.

The Shopping District is the best place to stop first

The Shopping District is the most important early stop for shops. This is when the route starts to feel more planned out, because most of the current guides for the game focus on how to make the most of your time in shops, how to get the most value out of your badges, and how to plan for stronger upgrades.

If a guide is supposed to help you spend wisely, this is the place you should pay the most attention to. This is the time to slow down, see what makes your build better, and stop wasting money on things that don't help your main setup.

When accessories and mid-game shops are more important

As the game goes on, accessories become more useful because you're not just trying to get through basic rooms anymore. You want the whole build to feel cleaner. That's when a mid-game stop like West Wing comes in handy.

At this point, you should already know which character you want to play and what kind of run you want to have. That makes it easier to make decisions about what to buy later on, since each purchase has a clearer purpose.

Best Shop Route for a Smooth Run

The order that is the cleanest is Underground Lab, Ice Age, Shopping District, and then West Wing. That path is a good one because it goes from getting to know the subject to making better spending decisions.

If a run feels weak, grinding for no reason is usually not the answer. The solution is to check shops more carefully, buy for one build, and let badges and accessories help you play the way you want to.
