Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds may not be as polished or last as long as Mario Kart, but it makes a strong case as one of the best mascot racing games of 2025 and the fullest Sonic racing game to date.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds offers you several cups to compete in, including a hidden one that will require you to make extra effort to unlock.
By default, the game only gives you 6 cups to unlock; there are also two additional ones that can be unlocked in the gameplay, as well as two more that will be added in the DLC.
The first of the new cups that you will have to unlock is the Egg Grand Prix. This becomes available after you win all six initial cups.
By “win” I mean you’ll have to finish ahead of your rivals, it’s not mandatory too when every single race.
If the rival finishes ahead of you, the race will be considered a loss.
Every winner a race, you’ll be given a trophy in the bottom right corner of your menu, allowing you to track progress.
Once you win the Egg Grand Prize, the game will give you a card scene with Dondon Pa, followed by the credits rolling. When that sequence ends, the Secret Grand Prix will be available for you to play.
The Secret Grand Prix features a lot of cool tracks, which will include Kronos Island from Sonic Frontiers, Northstar Islands from Sonic Superstars. And White Space from Shadow Generations.
And these tracks aren’t just good for their namesake; all these tracks feature unique designs that are inspired by the original game, with fun and energetic music.
