Syberia - Remastered Guide | Barge Lock Puzzle (Sluice Gate)

Once you’ve completed the Barge Puzzle to progress through the rest of Barrockstadt, you’ll need to operate the Sluice Gate. This guide will show you how.

Your next objective is to move the train across the canal by operating the Sluice Gates.

From the University area, walk down toward the canal bridge and look for the sluice control panel after the cutscene; it will be around the water locks. You'll have to call the technician using the helpline.

The panels will control the sequence of gates that moderate the water levels, along the barge, to move through safely.

To get the bar, you’ll need to follow this specific input:

• 4, 2, *: Doing so well with the barge into the first lock.
• 4, 1, *: Doing this will make the water level rise, therefore lifting the barge.
• 4, 2, *: This will cause the barge to go to the next lock.
• 4, 1, *: Doing this will cause the final gate to open, and the bars will be able to exit from the last lock.

After completing the sequence, the barge will reach the other side of the canal, allowing you to proceed forward.

Once the sluice gate is over with, head back to the bridge area and take the path on the right.

Follow the path straight up until you reach the barge platform, where there will be a bunch of workers waiting. One interacting with them, you want to select the "help" prompt.

After helping to assist, connect the hook to the heavy chain inside the barge. Doing so will trigger a cut scene, which will show the workers using the mechanism to pull the train towards the winding station. 

After that part of the sequence and the train will be positioned correctly.

Head back to the bridge toward the train exit point, which will transition to the university lecture hall, marking the end of the sluice gate in Syberia Remastered.
