Diablo Immortal, the long-awaited mobile game, is finally set to release on June 2, but Activision Blizzard canceled the launch in two European nations due to legal issues. Belgium and the Netherlands won't get Diablo: Immortal since lootboxes are prohibited there. The 2018 restriction solely affects loot boxes with sellable contents.

"Diablo Immortal will not be accessible in Belgium or the Netherlands," a representative informed Eurogamer. "It will also not appear on Battle.net or in the App Store or Google Play in Belgium or the Netherlands," the spokesperson said.

Activision Blizzard seems to assume that lootbox goods will be sold on the secondary market in Diablo: Immortal (or whether this would be available in the game at all) and has thus banned the game in these countries.

Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play title that primarily targets mobile platforms and continues the Diablo series. The action-packed role-playing game with significant multiplayer online participation takes place between Diablo II and Diablo III. Revealed at BlizzCon 2018 for mobile platforms, the game was scheduled to be released in June 2022, with a beta release for PC.
