Good News: players of Final Fantasy VII Remake can expect to receive some "special bonuses" if they also play the upcoming second chapter of Square Enix's trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which will be released sometime early next year. This is one of the many exciting new reveals surrounding the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth release; alongside the special bonuses, we were also able to get a sneak peek as to where the story for the next game will go.
Based on the information we got from the announcement, we now know that the story of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will end with The Forgotten Capital, which long-time fans will recognize as playing a vital part of Final Fantasy VII story. Players should also buckle up as, according to Square Enix, players can expect over 100+ hours of content. Now, there is also some sad news: players will unfortunately be unable to transfer over their progress from the previous game.
The game's director, Naoki Hamaguchi, stated that each part of the trilogy should be viewed as its own standalone game, and thus, there will be differences in how the game is balanced. While this is sad, he did go on to say that if you've played the previous and first entry in the trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Remake, you will receive "special bonuses*.
As to what these "special bonuses" are, we have no clue, and we'll likely have to wait until the game's release to find out. Aside from all these details about story points and bonuses, there are still plenty of unanswered questions as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is said to feature some rather drastic changes to the original game's story. Like with the bonuses, we'll have to wait and see.
