A PopCap Easter Egg

It’s another holiday and another reminder of how PopCap loves us in bomb-packet form. I’m sorry if you thought this was going to be the hidden game trinket variant, but no, there will be no Portal 2 references in these games.

The postman kind of messed the Zuma Blitz box up, but it's still PopCap goodness.

This time, their game Zuma is the one to take all the credit, as the beloved casual giant sends a box of it containing a humongous Easter egg. I’m pretty sure it will melt on what is now a sun-laden shrine to PopCap with their calendar, Valentine sweets and now this egg, but I doubt I could eat a nice gesture like that anyway. In any case, I’ll have until September 2012 to make up my mind to eat the delicious treat containing wholesome products like soy lecithin, whatever that is.

This would be the perfect time to tell you that PopCap launched a new label called 4th & Battery recently and has already had issues with Apple accepting their first game, Unpleasant Horse. The in-house studio will be focused as a form of makeshift training station for their developers, so they don’t need to crank out casual gold at all times.

To give context to this: I have rather large manhands and the PopCap egg fits it all.

Yet, this might only be a kink in the road, as Business Insider reported that the company has been seeing revenue of $100m in 2010, rising 25% approximately. Not too shabby, I suppose.

Lastly, the egg wants people to check out their latest Facebook adaptation, Zuma Blitz. Enjoy that as you search for little presents in the grass and nomnomnom on them. Just make sure they’re chocolate presents and not something else.
