EA and BioWare Still Working on Anthem

Anthem's overhaul still in the works

Anthem was one of the best selling games of 2019 but also one of the most disappointing. The game's repetitive missions and lack of end-game content resulted in the player base leaving the live service title in mass. With content delays, the roadmap gone, and many veteran BioWare staff members leaving many assumed Anthem production was going to halt soon but that's not the case. According to Kotaku a complete overhaul of Anthem is in the works.

According to Jason Schreier, he has heard from several developers that they are attempting a No Man's Sky level of an overhaul. However, the development team is not sure what the results will be. Currently, the developers did come out that they're planning smaller reworks to improve the experience rather than new content.

Schreier was also the reporter who broke the harsh development of Anthem, explaining that many developers would find a room just to cry because the game has no clear direction and constant reworks.

It Anthem can pull a No Man's Sky that would be great. After all, considering the game's sales there are a lot of people with copies of the game. But getting those same people to redownload what would be a large series of patches and updates will take a lot of convincing.

Anthem is now available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
