Arc System Works Creating A DFO Fighting Game
Dungeon and Fighter Duel will bring Arc System Works style to the Korean IP.

Nexon and Neople have announced a partnership with Arc System Works and Eighting to create a fighting game based on Dungeon Fighter Online (DFO). The newly released trailer for Dungeon and Fighter Duel shows some of DFO’s character classes - including Berserker, Grappler, Inquisitor, Ranger, and Striker - duking it out in an animation style similar to the Guilty Gear or BlazBlue series. It is indeterminate what other classes will show up, or if Arc System Works will create unique personalities for these jobs. Dungeon Fighter Online features dozens of different playable job classes, but most of them are blank slates without an iconic character to represent them.
Arc System works is no stranger to making games out of existing IPs, having published successful fighting games like Dragon Ball FighterZ and Granblue Fantasy Versus. Western audiences may at first be surprised to see a game based on Dungeon Fighter Online. Nexon first brought the MMO to North America over a decade ago, but was later pulled and relaunched directly by Neople. While it enjoyed a modest following in the west, the game has remained a massive commercial success in its native home of South Korea and other parts of Asia.
