The first piece of Assassin’s Creed: Unity DLC called Dead Kings will launch on January 13 on Xbox One and PC, followed by PS4 on January 14. The DLC will follow Arno after the events in Unity, as he explores the mysterious city of Saint Deniswith with new tools such as the Guillotine gun. Dead Kings will launch as a free add-on for everyone who owns a copy of Assassin’s Creed: Unity as part of Ubisoft’s forgiveness program after the poor launch. The CEO of Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto, Yannis Mallet, made the announcement in November.

“Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues. I want to sincerely apologize on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin’s Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential,” Mallet stated last year.

Those who purchased the season pass for Assassin’s Creed Unity before November 25 will receive all the content promised in the pass and one free game of their choice. This includes The Crew, Far Cry 4, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Watch Dogs, Rayman Legends or Just Dance 2014.

Since its launch, those who purchased Assassin’s Creed: Unity have reported experiencing various glitches and bugs that range from minor annoyances to game-breaking. Since then Ubisoft has released various patches to fix the myriad of issues plaguing Unity to little avail.
