Since the beta Battlefield 2042 has been fighting an uphill battle. The beta features many visual problems, balancing issues, and overall a decline in performance compared to other Battlefield games. Many saw this as a repeat of titles like Marvel's Avengers and Fallout 76 which featured problematic betas weeks before the games launched and despite the publishers of those games stating the betas did not represent the final product they did. And like Battlefield 2042's beta, it fully represented the final product.

Those who purchased the game early found the issues present in the beta were here along with much more. Now that the game is available to everyone at a standard price the game has gained over 10,000 negative reviews on Steam resulting in a Mostly Negative reception.

As stated, since the game's early launch players have flooded Reddit, Twitch, and YouTube with various accounts of poor performance and lackluster gameplay. The game simply does not hold up compared to other Battlefield games in terms of content and destructible environments.

PC players have noted that servers are flooded with boosting servers along with lackluster rewards. There's little content especially since the game lacks a single-player so many were expecting more maps and options. Honestly, it seems like a repeat of Star Wars Battlefront 2015.

Battlefield 2042 is now available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC.
