Since the conclusion of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt CD Projekt RED has often been asked about possible future entries within the franchise. The studio has stated before they're focused on Cyberpunk 2077 at the moment and that Geralt's journey has come to a close, but that hasn't stopped people from asking about the future of the Witcher franchise. CD Projekt RED was asked about the Pareto Securities' Gaming Seminar about Witcher 4, in which he stated that they cannot create a 4th game within a trilogy.

Witcher 4 assumes that it'll take place within Geralt of Rivia's world of The Witcher Trilogy, but CD Projekt Red’s Adam Kicinski briefly addressed the subject, stating, “We can’t create Witcher 4 because that was a trilogy from the beginning,”. Kicinski also stated that the studio may return to the series, but they're focused on Gwent and Cyberpunk 2077 for now.

If the studio makes another game, it's likely to have a different name in an attempt to separate it from the original games. The studio has stated multiple times it might return to the series but never said when, perhaps after Cyberpunk 2077 unless they have a sequel planned.

As we've seen with the opening of new a studio the project is immense, especially with leaked information regarding the progressive nature of the music alone. Considering the amount of work going into this futuristic world and the developer's high standards we can safely assume that a majority of resources are going to its development.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now in development for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
