With Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.2, CDPR has introduced new secrets into the game. The biggest of them is the BALATRO Treasure Hunt, a hidden challenge involving collectible cards. BALATRO is a popular card game, and CDPR has collaborated with them before, even featuring Cyberpunk-themed cards. It seems like everyone is playing it—except you.

After installing the latest update, you will receive a message from Jim B, inviting you to track down all the cards. This marks the beginning of the treasure hunt.

Card 1 Location

The first clue is fairly simple. If you carefully analyze the image, you will recognize the bus stop at the Columbarium, identifiable by the distinctive architecture on the left. Once you reach the bus stop, you will find the first card resting on a bench, with a Joker face nearby.

Card 2 Location

Your next clue features a statue of a bird, which may be confusing at first, especially since the image was taken at night. However, this roundabout is close to the Columbarium. Simply head to the statue, and at its base, you will find the next card.

Card 3 Location

This clue is relatively easy. As soon as you see it, you can quickly deduce that it is inside Misty’s Esoterica shop. Head over to Bradbury and Bans Street, enter the store, and locate the third card on the floor.

Card 4 Location

After Misty’s, you receive another clue—Delamain’s logo. Naturally, you might assume the card is at Delamain HQ, and you would be right. However, finding it takes longer than expected. The card is not inside the HQ but rather on the roof of the entrance. You need to climb to the top to retrieve it.

Card 5 Location

This clue features a ladder on a pier, with a protection barrier in the background, giving away the location. However, identifying the correct ladder with the Joker on top may take time. Once you find it, jump into the water, and you will discover the next card there.

Card 6 Location

The next image depicts an elegant location. Seeing the "SM" ball, your first thought may be Dogtown, but the true location is Jinguji—the luxury clothing store in Night City’s center. Enter the main Jinguji store, and right behind the logo, you will find the next card.

Card 7 Location

This clue is one of the easiest. The image clearly shows the roundabout dome in Corpo Plaza, recognizable by its glass structure. Head to the rooftop, where you will spot a hologram. Right next to it, you will find another BALATRO card.

Card 8 Location

This location took the longest to figure out. The image features a statue, but there are multiple similar ones throughout the city, making it difficult to pinpoint the correct one. Eventually, the statue near Jig-Jig Street turned out to be the right one. If you examine it closely, you’ll notice its feet exposed, and the card is placed right beside them.

Card 9 Location

This clue was straightforward. It depicted a bar in Jig-Jig Street, making it easy to locate. After finding the previous statue, simply head to the bar on the left, and you will see the next BALATRO card resting on the counter.

Card 10 Location

The final card proved to be the biggest challenge. The clue showed a flamingo, but you might not immediately recall where it is located. After spending hours searching, you may only find it by chance. If you reload a previous save after finding the ninth card, you might spot the flamingo while heading toward your car. The last card is located near it, also in Jig-Jig Street.

BALATRO Treasure Hunt Rewards

Once the hunt is over, Jim B will send you an image of your apartment, indicating that he has left you a reward there. When you return home, you will find three special cards displayed on your shelf—Johnny, Rogue, and Jackie. Additionally, you will unlock a BALATRO shirt in your wardrobe.

However, there may be a bug preventing the shirt from appearing. Even after reloading, retracing your steps, and collecting all the cards again, you may not see it. Perhaps some time needs to pass before it shows up. Hopefully, by the time you check again, the shirt will be available.

This treasure hunt is another great example of how Cyberpunk 2077 continues to add Easter eggs and hidden content. BALATRO seems to be a popular game among CDPR developers, and the quest designer Maria Mazur was responsible for bringing this collaboration into the game. The Global PR Director of CDPR even mentioned how he suggested adding BALATRO cards to Cyberpunk 2077, and thanks to Mazur’s work, it became a reality.

Final Thoughts

The more Easter eggs, the better—it makes exploring Cyberpunk 2077 even more exciting. Searching for these hidden details is always fun, and this treasure hunt was no exception.
