Rockstar Games is one of the most acclaimed developers in the gaming industry. With ground-breaking IPs such as Bully, Grand Theft Auto, and Red Dead Redemption, the studio is known for setting new gaming standards. Now, one of the company's founders, Dan Houser, is leaving the company.
Parent company Take-Two Interactive announced on Tuesday afternoon:
After an extended break beginning in the spring of 2019, Dan Houser, Vice President, Creative at Rockstar Games, will be leaving the company. Dan Houser’s last day will be March 11, 2020. We are extremely grateful for his contributions. Rockstar Games has built some of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful game worlds, a global community of passionate fans and an incredibly talented team, which remains focused on current and future projects.
With his brother Sam Houser, the brothers founded Rockstar in 1998 as part of Take-Two Interactive. Houser was responsible for some of the greatest games of this and the last generation, serving as the lead writer for Rockstar's two recent games, Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, along with producing Bully and Max Payne 3.
