Death Stranding's Mads Mikkelsen Says He Isn't the Villain

Despite the recent trailer of Death Stranding featuring an afraid Guillermo del Toro and a sinister looking Mads Mikkelsen it turns out fans have it wrong. According to Mikkelsen he's not the villain of Death Stranding.

In a video provided by a fan, Mikkelsen answered a question regarding video games become the new frontier in storytelling and being the villain of Death Stranding. Mikkelsen responded:

"No I'm a villain, I'm a character in there. That you can decide what he is."

It's possible that Mikkelsen is unsure of his role given Hideo Kojima's use of plot in video games and how complicated things get as his game's progress.

However, considering his final statement Death Stranding could feature a type of decision system that could shift the story. Perhaps you decide who's the villain and who's the hero.

Death Stranding is set to release on PlayStation 4.
