Baldur's Gate 3 is probably the biggest sleeper hit of 2023. Well over two months after its release, the game is still on gamers' tongues, and it would seem that the former producer of Baldur's Gate 3 will also be working on the highly anticipated Fable title. Ryan Clark has confirmed that he will be joining Xbox-owned PlayGround Games and lending his skills during the game's development.
Taking on the responsibility of remaking the iconic Fable franchise is no easy task; the franchise has well over 20 years of history and is one of the most influential Western RPGs of all time. However, there is no better studio than PlayGround Games. The developer, which Xbox recently acquired, has had a few hiccups along the way, such as losing the narrative lead of Fable 4, but hopefully, with the addition of Baldur's Gate's former producer, things will start getting on track. Hopefully.
Those of you who are unfamiliar with Ryan Clark and his previous work may know him from his work on Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate 3. Clark announced his LinkedIn Page, where he shared that he was happy to announce that he would be taking on the role of Executive Producer at Playground Games and will be part of the team working on the Fable remake. Ryan worked as an animation producer for Baldur's Gate 3 and has experience working on several of EA's well-known FIFA games.
There have been many concerns surrounding the Fable remake development, the most recent of these concerns is of course, the loss of Fable 4's narrative lead writer. However, even in the initial stages of the game's development, many longtime fans didn't have faith in the project as the team behind the original Fable games would not be included in the project. Even the most recent trailer for the game, which was shown off at this year's Xbox Showcase, became the most disliked video of the year. The inclusion of Ryan Clark will ease the tension among longtime fans of the series.
As of writing, the news of Ryan Clark's involvement in the Fable remake has seemingly gone down incredibly well with fans of both Fable and Baldur's Gate 3. The remake is rumored to be in a playable state, so it will be interesting to see how Clark's role will affect the project in the future. Despite all the concerns and controversies surrounding the project, it's good to hear that things are going smoothly, and it looks like things will hopefully get even better.
