Door Kickers: Action Squad Hits Steam Early Access

Despite its name, Door Kickers was a great offering for more tactically-minded gamers. Channeling a bit of SWAT 4's mojo into its top-down take on police tactics, rescuing hostages, disarming bombs and getting murdered by that one dude in the room you didn't bother to check was all good fun. A week ago, KillHouse Games, and PixelShard, released Door Kickers: Action Squad on Steam Early Access. This time around, we're dealing with a side-scrolling action game that boasts some cool-looking pixel art. The game currently has both a single player and multiplayer modes (online and couch co-op), alongside 3 player classes, each coming with 3 unique weapons. Players will be able to blast through 8 enemy types in 24 levels spread across 3 mission types.

Door Kickers: Action Squad is expected to be in Early Access for 6 to 8 months. The developers aim to provide regular, monthly updates. Plans for the full version involve a fourth playable class, a level editor, boss enemies alongside more weapons, levels and non-boss enemies. Door Kickers: Action Squad is currently available on Steam Early Access for the price of 11,99€ or your regional equivalent. The game will suffer a price increase of ~20% upon exiting Early Access.
