Nintendo has confirmed that there is a technical problem with Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. Several users have reported that the problem makes the game stop without warning while they are playing, which makes people worry about lost progress and stability.

Nintendo is currently looking into reports that Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, which was recently added to the Nintendo GameCube-Nintendo Classics collection, is being shut down without the player's permission.

One of the scariest things about the issue is that data could be lost.

The problem seems to happen without notice, which makes it hard for players to plan ahead or avoid crashes during important parts of the game. Nintendo said in an official statement that it is aware of the rising number of questions about the issue and that a fix is being worked on.

However, there is no clear date given for when a change or update will be made available. It was also said that the company would share more updates as soon as it had more information.

Nintendo has made it clear that if the game ends suddenly, any progress made during that session might not be saved. This has made players angry, especially those who have lost a lot of progress in the game because of quick crashes.

Switch Online players are worried about sudden crashes that wipe out their progress.

Nintendo is encouraging players to use the pause menu's "in-game quick save" tool more often to lessen the effect. This method lets players make their own save states, which lowers the chance of losing a lot of work in a game.

The hack is only good until a real fix is released, so it's not a permanent fix. This is especially disappointing for Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness fans who were looking forward to playing the popular game again after it came out on the Nintendo GameCube.

It was highly expected that it would be added to the Switch Online service, giving both longtime fans and new players a chance to play it on modern hardware. People who haven't started playing yet might want to wait until Nintendo completes the fix.

Players who are currently making progress in the game should be careful and save often to avoid losing their work. Nintendo recommends frequent manual saves while the crash problem is being fixed.

Even though it was annoying, Nintendo has apologized for the problem and told users that fixing it is a top concern. As the investigation goes on, players will be keeping a close eye out for changes that make one of the platform's newest retro games stable again.
