It’s taken a little longer than expected, but everyone can finally stop complaining. Grand Theft Auto V will officially land on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC with visuals to reflect its next generation iteration. “Why isn’t this on next gen? Worst game ever,” we all saw during the game’s launch in September of last year, before the new consoles were even really a thing. Not anymore!
GTA V will land on the current consoles on November 18, 2014 and will follow up early next year on PC with a date on January 27, 2015. At least we’re getting a PC version, which isn’t always in the cards for publisher Rockstar Games.
For the new version, you can expect improved visuals, with enhanced damage and weather effects. There will also be more weapons, vehicles and activities. Taking advantage of more processing power, you’ll be able to see more wildlife and traffic than ever before. There are also over 100 additional songs.
For Grand Theft Auto Online, the new versions will up the player count to 30 on PS4 and Xbox One. For some reason the PC version is omitted in that blurb. Regardless, you’ll be able to transfer over character progression to this newer iteration.
To get you ready, Rockstar has thrown out a trailer for Grand Theft Auto V that presents its weirdness in full glory. That is; unless you’ve routinely see semi-sentient dogs that acknowledge a person’s presence with a fist bump, rather than a paw shake. GTA keeps it real.
Now we need to wait to see a confirmation on that price tag. Currently, outlets have it listed at $59.99. We hope it will try to go a bit lower than that.
