Halo: Reach - End For Bungie?

News by Fishdalf on  Jul 25, 2009

It’s been widely reported that Halo: Reach will be the last game in the franchise made by Bungie. The main source of these rumours is due to a quote from Lars Bakken, senior designed for Bungie stating that, "After Reach that's it for us. We're already working on a new IP that we can't talk about yet, I don't know when we'll be talking about it -- when we're ready I suppose."

Computer and Video Games has a slightly different quote, but overall gives a pretty similar message, "In terms of a platform for Halo games made by Bungie, yes... in terms of Bungie-produced Halo games, ODST and then Reach is probably all you're going to get." I

In other Halo news; the Halo game that Peter Jackson was supposedly working on has all but ended, with Jackson himself saying, That Halo project is no longer happening, it sort of collapsed when the movie didn't end up happening."

Bleak times ahead for fans of the series.
