Halo: The Master Chief Collection is one of the most disappointing exclusives for the Xbox One. Not because of the content but the technical issues that still plague the game to this day. Now the notorious faulty legacy to one of Microsoft's most acclaimed characters is getting an Xbox One X patch, but not for the launch of the system.
According to 343 Industries Bonnie Ross the reason behind the delay for the graphical update was the 6 different in-game engines.
“[The Master Chief Collection] is six engines. It’s not an easy thing to move over, and there’s a lot of risk, which doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do it. It just means we should be cautious about when we should do it.”
Ross explained during the end of the livestream that gamers will have to wait until Spring 2018.
Launched in 2014 Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched with a myriad of issues that prevented gamers from logging into the game's online multiplayer Since then the game has undergone multiple updates and patches to resolve the many issues. In response, Microsoft offered gamers who purchased Halo: MMC at launch free content including a remastered version of Halo 3: ODST.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is now available for Xbox One.
