It's exciting times for Hollow Knight: Silksong! We finally got a proper announcement of the game in a major presentation. Not only that, but we got a few seconds of brand-new footage, a possible release window, and some new assets like updated logos, new key art, and in-game screenshots. After waiting so long for any kind of update, this is big for the fans.

Of course, this is all exciting. We are still really expecting some direct updates from Team Cherry in the next few months. And if we are really lucky, we might even see a Hollow Knight: Silksong segment in Nintendo eShop. However, for now, we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. There's a lot, but let's focus on the new assets that were sent out in the press kit after the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal stream.

After the Switch 2 event, Team Cherry made the Hollow Knight: Silksong press kit public. There are some brand-new in-game screenshots, including one that looks like a boss fight. What makes this really cool is that we can compare it to an older version of the same scene, which has been on the Silksong website and Steam for years.

The old version was already stunning, but the new one has skyrocketed. The walls have more texture, there are more white highlights, and there are lots of wobbly lines that weren't there before. I'm not sure if there would be a stylistic change or if there is some gameplay reason behind it, but all these settings almost look more hand-drawn, which is like an artistic choice and not something purely visual.

Another thing worth mentioning is the updated HUD. The familiar elements are still there, such as Hornet's health masks and the spool showing her thread count; however, there is something new. There seems to be a section displaying what abilities or tools are currently equipped.

Also, Hornet has more health masks in these new screenshots, which could mean she's further along in the game. The cog design also looks different, which keeps us wondering: Could this be our first look at the Silk Soul mode, or is this a different gameplay mechanic?

Also, the logo of the game got a little makeover. At first, it might look the same, but if you compare the old one with the new one, you'll notice a slight difference. The thickness of the letters in Hollow Knight has changed slightly. Furthermore, there is a brand-new key art image featuring Hollow Knight: Silksong's protagonist, Hornet. The artwork looks a little different from what we've seen before.

Hornet has a slightly more cartoony look, though she still looks the same. While we expected more details on Silksong, Team Cherry finally distributed a new press kit for the game. After years of silence, we finally got some real updates, new footage, new art, and even a glimpse at some possible gameplay changes.

However, we still don't have an exact release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong, but we can hope for new updates soon to answer our questions. Perhaps during the next Nintendo Direct presentation on April 17, since the new Hollow Knight: Silksong trailer ends with the date April 18. Who knows, it might just be the release date of the game.
