Nintendo Direct Might Reveal Hollow Knight: Silksong Release Date

After what seems like an eternity, Hollow Knight: Silksong has received an update. Not so long ago, Team Cherry released some disappointing news about the game's progress, but they have finally updated the game's Steam store page. After this update, Silksong's Steam store page has undergone several changes, including that date alteration. No, we are not referring to the regular ones that occur every few months. This update includes new assets, store categories, and cloud content.

Hollow Knight: Silksong's Steam store page, in contrast to its official website, which is updated annually (though slightly later than expected), has not been updated in quite a while. Team Cherry upgrading just one section of the game's store page is evidence that they haven't bothered to do so. Even minor modifications like this indicate activity, as they haven't updated their websites so far.

The Steam page for Hollow Knight: Silksong has been updated with new assets, store categories, and cloud gaming content. The most crucial part is the line that says SteamDB is lacking the access key. This generally means that the website is being worked on behind the scenes and will be published publicly with updates later.

It could signify nothing at all, but it could also suggest that they're updating the shop page with all the necessary launch information, such as a new trailer, release date, price, etc. Interestingly, we believe that the individuals responsible for monitoring GeForce Now opt-ins were the first to notice the modifications to the Steam page. 

Meanwhile, one thing that should be highlighted is that the PlayStation store website is still set to 2022. Also, there are not many differences between the other store pages, except that the Nintendo version is now online. This has piqued interest since there's a Nintendo Direct rumored to happen next week and the confirmed Switch 2 Direct in April 2, 2025. So Hollow Knight: Silksong might as well be showcased there.

This comes just one week after a blog post by Xbox at ID listed Silksong among their upcoming games, along with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (out on April 24), Descenders Next (out on April 9), and FBC Firebreak (set for release in Summer 2025). Unless Xbox is once again jumping the gun, we're thinking all three will be out within the next few months.

Another well-known leaker has speculated about a summer release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong; however, this leaker has been incorrect in the past regarding the game. Keep in mind that Team Cherry can rethink and alter their plans at any time, so this date may still be subject to change.
