Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Coming In August
Microsoft as revealed that the remaster is headed for Xbox One
News by Fragnarok on Jun 04, 2020
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was an ambitious RPG when it first released on consoles and PC during 2012. Now, Microsoft has confirmed that the game is receiving a full remaster as Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning on Xbox One. It will include the base game and all previous DLC.
The original game was developed by 38 Studios and published by Electronic Arts. While the game itself was heavily praised, it was an overall financial disaster. Founder Curt Schilling had been loaned $75 million by the state of Rhode Island, but low sales led to 38 Studios bankruptcy. Electronic Arts eventually sold Amalur’s rights to THQ Nordic in 2018.
Microsoft appears to have jumped the gun on Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning’s release. It currently only appears on the Microsoft store without official confirmation from THQ Nordic. Additionally, there is not yet evidence of a PlayStation 4 or PC version.
