Nintendo Switch 2 Officially Releasing In 2025

After much speculation about the Nintendo Switch 2 release date, Nintendo has finally revealed that Nintendo Switch 2, the system's successor, will launch in 2025. Nintendo unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2 today in a video that gave fans their first glimpse at the hardware.

While this is game news, the Nintendo Switch 2 will run games specific to it in addition to some digital and physical Nintendo Switch games. However, Nintendo Switch 2 might not be compatible with all Nintendo Switch titles or be completely compatible with certain of them. Nintendo will announce the details on the list of compatible games later.

 

Nintendo will also reveal more about the Nintendo Switch 2 at the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 - 4.2.2025, which will be held on 2 April 2025.

Additionally, Nintendo will host hands-on Nintendo Switch 2 events worldwide where users can get firsthand experience with the console.
