PlayStation February 2025 State of Play: Everything Announced

Sony's first PlayStation State of Play finally happened on February 12, 2025. While there were hardly any first-party news announcements, the showcase neglected major first-party titles for almost the whole 45 minutes in favor of forthcoming third-party games.

However, Sony left on a high note by releasing a trailer for Saros, their next game from Housemarque, the developers as Returnal, and Days Gone Remastered. Although fans were hoping for a GTA VI release trailer or a Bloodborne Remake update, none were revealed during this event.

Tides of Annihilation, an action-adventure single-player game being developed by Eclipse Glow Studio, stole the show for me. Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, too, from the developers of the smash hit Streets of Rage 4. There were other notable titles like MindsEye, Digimon Time Stranger, and Saros, but fans had even higher expectations.

Sony's full list of announcements at the February 2025 State of Play broadcast is detailed below:

• METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER is scheduled for release on August 28, 2025.
• Borderlands 4's official release date is September 23, 2025.
• Onimusha 2 remaster has received an overview teaser but will not be released until 2026.
• Tides of Annihilation served as one of the main surprises of the evening.
• Days Gone will be available for PS5 on April 25, 2025, with support for VRR and PS5 Pro.
• MindsEye gameplay and cinematic clips have been revealed, along with a Summer 2025 release date.
• Warriors: Abyss, a roguelite spin-off of Dynasty Warriors, will be released on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
• Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be available on all platforms.
• Stellar Blade is receiving a Victory: Nikke crossover, which will be released on PC in June.
• Lies of P: Overture will act as a prelude to the 2023 original game.
• WWE 2K25 has received the official The Island reveal trailer that has a new island mode.
• Shinobi: Art of Vengeance will be available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on August 29, 2025.
• Metal Eden will be launched on PlayStation 5 on May 6, 2025. Metal Eden will debut on May 6.
• Lost Soul Aside received a new gameplay and narrative trailer and will be released for PS5 and PC on May 30, 2025.
• Monster Hunter Wilds will deliver a free title update in the spring that includes Mizutsune, Special Quests, and other bonuses.
• Split Fiction has received a new narrative teaser ahead of its big release on March 6, 2025.
• Directive 8020 will be launched on October 2, 2025—a title combining sci-fi exploration with horror.
• Dreams of Another, a PixelJunk adventure, will be published for PS5 and PS VR2 in 2025.
• Darwin's Paradox is a new game where you control an octopus got an official reveal trailer.
• The Midnight Walk will be available on PS5 and PS VR2 on May 8, 2025.
• Dave the Diver will get Like a Dragon-themed Ichiban's Holiday DLC in April 2025.
• Hell Is Us, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi action-adventure, is set to be launched on September 4, 2025. Hell is Us debuts on September 4.
• Digimon Story Time Stranger will be released on PlayStation 5 in 2025.
• The Midnight Walk, a new first-person game incorporating stop-motion animation, will be released on May 8.
• Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is getting a demo this coming Friday.
• Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of the Mimic is set to be released on June 13.
• Splitgate 2 will have an alpha test on February 27.
• PS Plus Classic will have the first three Armored Core games.
• PS Plus will include Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, Blue Prince, and Abiotic Factor.
