Pokemon Go: Bug Out Event Dates and Details Revealed
Niantic Labs increasing the amount of Bug-type Pokemon in Pokemon GO
News by Grayshadow on Mar 28, 2019
Niantic Labs is continuing support for Pokemon GO with a new bug event happening next week on April 2nd until April 9th.
The event called Bug Out! will provide an array of bonuses but most importantly increase the rate of Bug-type Pokemon.
Event Outline
Bug-type Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild. This includes Caterpie, Weedle, Paras, Venonat, Scyther, Pinsir, Ledyba, Spinarak, Yanma, Wurmple, Volbeat, Illumise, Anorith, Kricketot, Combee, Shuckle, and Pineco.
Incense will last twice as long, meaning that these items will last 60 minutes instead of 30.
When using an incense, more Pokemon will also appear as a result.
Shiny Bug-types include Caterpie, Pinsir, and Pineco.
Although the mechanics are entirely different, the strong emphasis on Scyther rings a familiar bell: Scyther, Pinsir, and one family of Bug-type Pokémon (Caterpie, Metapod, and Butterfree in Silver, Weedle, Kakuna, and Beedrill in Gold) could only be caught during the Bug-Catching Contest. All the others could be caught in the wild outside the contest.
Pokemon GO is out now in select regions for Android and iOS devices.
