Since the first trailer debuted in December 2023, neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive has provided us with any major updates. However, a small but potentially exciting update on Grand Theft Auto VI, specifically its online component, is on the horizon. There have been reports that Rockstar will soon disclose a well-researched report about GTA VI and GTA Online 2.
Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, recently discussed the company's plans to start marketing GTA VI relatively close to its release window, although new gameplay details have been scarce. Fortunately, it seems fans won't have to wait too much longer for new information.
In the latest podcast, industry insider Tom Henderson revealed, "Speaking of stories and GTA VI, I have a well-researched story coming out in the next couple of weeks about GTA VI and its online component." It's still unclear whether this upcoming report will touch on a specific release window or offer new single-player details. Regardless, fans are eager for any news, particularly about GTA Online 2, which has been a major money-maker for Take-Two since it launched in October 2013.
Since the game's announcement, how GTA Online 2 will function within Grand Theft Auto VI has been left largely ambiguous. While it might seem odd that we're essentially getting a tease for a report about a game that's already expected to launch later this year, that's just the current reality surrounding GTA VI. Fans are desperate for solid information—something that isn't nonsense, BS, or clickbait. With Tom Henderson involved, who is widely regarded as one of the best insiders in the industry, expectations are quite high.
He has emphasized that he has been doing extensive research, specifically on the online component of GTA VI, and it sounds like he will have substantial information to share soon. This could be very interesting, especially since fans are eager to learn more not only about the online features but also about the single-player campaign, the characters, and the overall story.
That said, there's no denying that the online component will likely be the most significant part of the most anticipated AAA game of 2025 -Grand Theft Auto VI; make no mistake about that. Given GTA Online's massive success, it's reasonable to assume that Take-Two Interactive has some big plans for this action-packed single-player game, which, according to Gaming Bolt, Grand Theft Auto VI is still slated for launch this fall.
