The PlayStation Network is experiencing a massive outage, which has affected all services, including the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Portal. Sony is examining the problem, which has rendered many players unable to play their digital games.

Apart from the mysterious interruptions for over six hours in October 2024, the last major outage of the PlayStation Network happened in 2011. The network was down for approximately 23 days, between April 17th and April 19th, forcing Sony to deactivate the PlayStation Network servers on April 20th. The outage lasted 23 days, so it was a major event. People are clearly scared that this will be a repeat of the previous situation.

PSN Down, PlayStation Network Down, PSN Not Working

Now again, the PlayStation Network has been down since 3:00 p.m. Eastern yesterday, Friday evening. It appears that this is not a scheduled maintenance period. Sony has recognized that the issue exists and is looking into it. The only official news we have from PlayStation comes from its X account, which notes that "We are aware some users might be currently experiencing issues with PSN. For more details, look at status.playstation.com."

Still, everything is down right now, including account management, gaming, social media, PlayStation video, and the PlayStation Store. It appears that all customers are experiencing this, and Sony has not provided an explanation for why this is occurring.

We are aware that this is not a maintenance issue; it is not planned maintenance. Something has clearly gone wrong, but what exactly? Many fans, particularly those purchased online, are unable to play their games. Anything may happen right now, and I hope we find out what's going on sooner rather than later.

Do you think that the PSN is hacked again?
