Back in 2014 when the Xbox One was desperate for exclusive games Insomniac Games released Sunset Overdrive. The open-world third-person shooter wasn't a difficult game but won many over with its comedic writing, excellent over-the-top gameplay, and diverse setting. However, since then we haven't heard much about the franchise untll now.
Ted Price, president of Insomniac Games, spoke to Game Informer regarding Sunset Overdrive:
“You’d have to ask Microsoft.” But with or without Microsoft’s participation, Sunset Overdrive may grind again.” “We are passionate about that franchise, and we own it, so you may see more Sunset in the future from us. No promises, and no timeline to speak of, but it is something that represents our willingness to create unexpected experiences.”
