Mew-Genics cancelled and The Legend of Bum-Bo Revealed
News by Grayshadow on Mar 25, 2016
Mew-Genics has been cancelled.
It’s been over two years since we last heard anything about the indie project and now the creators of Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac has confirmed that the game isn’t in development anymore.
“I’m unsure of its future but there is a chance we will attempt to revamp it in a few years with a new design of mine that will push it in a new direction that will hopefully make it more exciting for both of us to work on…But sadly till then it’s not gonna happen” Edmund McMillen stated to Eurogamer.
Mcmullen was collaborating with his Super Meat Boy co-creator Tommy Refenes on the cat lady simulator. Two years ago the project was teased but no substantial information was released within that tie.
At the same time McMillen confirmed a new project called The Legend of Bum-bo. Working with James Id McMillen stated that the game is a “true based puzzle RPG type thingy thats randomly generated”. The Binding of Isaac composers, Matthias Bossi and Jon Evans will return to handle the audio.
Mcmullen has confirmed that The Legend of Bum-Bo will tie into The Binding of Isaac and will reveal more information in the coming months.
